Zinedine Zidane has no interest in returning to Real Madrid for a third time, according to reports in Spain.

Previously, Spanish outlet Cadena Ser reported that Zidane is one of three managers Real Madrid are considering if the club decides to sack Carlo Ancelotti.

However, Cadena Ser further reports that, according to sources close to Zizou, the French coach has no intention of returning to work at the Santiago Bernabeu for a third time. 

The case has been link to Zidane’s path and desire to coach the French national team, with French media suggesting the former midfielder is keen to take over from Didier Deschamps after the 2026 World Cup. 

Zidane’s first tenure at Real Madrid was from January 2016 to May 2018, during which he led the team to significant success, including three consecutive Champions League titles.

He returned in March 2019 and remained until May 2021. However, after his abrupt resignation, which was accompanied by a strongly word letter, Zidane and the club parted ways.

Real Madrid are continuing to assess Ancelotti’s situation, as the Whites have been inconsistent in recent times, but recently thrashed Girona 3-0.
