Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has hailed the performances and role models of veteran striker Chris Wood.
The Foresters beat Manchester United 3-2 in the Premier League on Saturday. Nottingham Forest now have 25 points from 15 games.
“We practiced a lot of set pieces. The only thing I think we could have done better was defending against counter-attacks. Not to the extent of not letting them play, but to deny them opportunities. In the second half, it was about trying to get closer to the opponents.
“We are incredibly grateful to have Chris (Wood) with us, it’s his 33rd birthday today and it means a lot to him as a role model for the younger players.
“I’m proud of the way we played, the way we built things, from the owners and everyone in the team. It’s a moment of celebration, but for me, I’m thinking about the Aston Villa game.”
After the match, Wood told reporters: “It’s fantastic, it’s nice I can keep doing well for the team.
“That’s all I want to do –— keep pushing up and getting as many goals as possible for the team, and see where it can take us.
